February Update
Dear Troop 354 Families,
So far, February 2007 hasn’t been very good for our Troop meeting schedule, 1st meeting in Feb., we had snow & the schools were closed - but the roads were clear & we had our meeting as usual. Then the meeting for Feb. 14th was not scheduled and a snow / ice dump would have cancelled the meeting anyway. The Troop’s snow day policy is that you’ll be contacted phone & email if a Troop meeting is cancelled, our Feb 7th meeting was an example. But we still leave the decision whether to attend a Troop meeting to the discretion the each individual family based on the conditions as in the past.
Now we have an opportunity to have a family ice skating activity on Feb. 21st at Patterson Park Skating Rink. Attached to this e-mail is the permission slip needed for the registered boys in the Troop & Webelos Dens. Please open the files & bring the slips to Patterson Park and meet us at the rink.
We still have a conflict with the school hall on Feb. 28th meeting night, that night is still in the planning stage, you’ll be notified what’s going on before the meeting night.
Week camp 2007, several outstanding deposits are overdue, were coming up on the second payment, March 7th , by that due date everyone’s camping payment account should be at $150. The Troop’s goal is to make week camp available to every Scout in the Troop, if there’s any doubt about finances, please see me; we have always made arrangements to accomplish that goal!
Camp Rodney Cabin Trip is March 2nd – 4th 2007; permission slips will be available at the skating rink next week.
Enjoy the weather, daylight savings time will start mid March, so does Spring!
In Troop 354,
Al Linke Jr.
Scoutmaster
